Open Thread

The thread continues. Since we were last debating the merits of pie, I give you…evil pie. Probably rhubarb. I have no idea what those subtitles say, but it's probably something horrific.
Have no fear! I shall rescue you all from the endless temptations of the cursed undead heart of the vengeful bride of the son of the thread that will not die! This thread will be safe.
It's a fresh new open thread!
This thread is useless. I must have another. And it must be sound…and young. If only I can keep it going until… (Hey, does anyone else think Colin Clive was drunk as a skunk when he did this scene? Listen to him slur "simulacrum".)
This train keeps rolling on into nightmare. It's…it's immoral. But it's also a fact. Carry on, passengers.
Time for a new Open Thread, where you can spit on the floor and call the cat a bastard.
Greetings, my friend. We are all interested in this thread, for that is where you and I are going to spend the rest of our lives. And remember my friend, future events such as these will affect you in the future. You are interested in the unknown…the mysterious. The unexplainable. That is why you are here. And now, for the first time, we are bringing to you, the full story of what happened on that fateful thread. We are bringing you all the evidence, based only on the secret testimony of the miserable souls who survived this terrifying ordeal, like Sven. The incidents, the places, the…
Aaaaiaiaiaiieeeeeeeeeaaaah! Make it stop, mommy, make it stop!
Time for a new open thread.
This is for off topic discussion. Oh, and Billy Bob Hall, since you don't seem to be able to stay on-topic, from now on you can only post to Open Threads. I will delete any comment you make to other threads.
Time for a new open thread.
I've got a franchise, I guess. The Thread That Will Not DIE is going to go on and on. I've once again closed the old thread, and here you go, more fresh virgin database entries to despoil. Go ahead and fill it up!
I've just seen Mooney and Kirshenbaum's latest eruption of petulance, and I also see that people are commenting away in various threads here. I really can't get to it until later, and I can't say that I'm enthusiastic about addressing such a flaccid blubbery bit of self-pity anyway, so let this thread be the central place for teeth-gnashing, fulminations, denunciations, or defenses. Or if you've got anything else interesting to say, feel free to announce it. You're also supposed to read this, which should cover most of the scatological expressions of outrage.
How many birthday salutations will appear in this thread? If you deserve a greeting for a recent birthday, you can speak up here, too.
Time for another open thread.
IT'S STILL ALIVE! Once again, the never-ending open thread has topped the 1K mark, and is now being closed…to be reborn here once again, I'm sure. I'm trapped in an old Hammer film with Christopher Lee!
The simple summary: As the video says, the country is shutting down the flow of information, clamping down on the internet — that alone would tell me that something nasty has been going down in the government there. Information should flow freely, and I've run across one set of instructions for setting up a proxy server under Windows, and one for Linux. I run neither…does anyone have similar instructions for BSD or Mac OS X Unix? Otherwise, feel free to talk about the new source of chaos in the Middle East.
The endless thread continues. Our creationist cretins in the old thread are still jabbering away, making progressively less sense as time goes by, and various sub-themes continue to branch from it, but I can't keep track of it all. Talk about whatever you want here. One subject I might suggest is what to do with Alan Clarke and RogerS, the two babblers who keep this stuff going. I know, you're like a bunch of tigers with a cat toy, and you're all battering these guys back and forth, but they are getting old and stale — they're clearly brain-dead, and Alan, a supposed computer professional,…
This is the thread you can use to post off-topic stuff.
This comment thread, which has been going on since February — I close them when they climb up to around a thousand comments, open a fresh one, and then you guys fill it up again. I threatened to close it off permanently, but participants told me not to…and if I did, I'm sure it would just erupt somewhere else. So here it is, again. I'm pretty sure I'll have to open up a "bride of the thread that will not die" and "son of the thread that will not die" and "second cousin's boyfriend's brother-in-law's thread that will not die" someday. I am resigned to it.
