Another semester under the belt

Today I managed to finish my grading ... well, most of it. I still have my upper-division Darwin & Design course to take care of. Despite nursing a bad cold, yesterday I attended our Honors Commencement (only 29 graduates walked this semester, none of them working with me on theses ... I've five coming up in the spring). The last extended family members leave town tomorrow and as soon as I finish with the ASU Commencement today (I've the honor of bearing the college banner), I'm home free. Probably home to bed is more like it, but there you have it.

Boring post, I know.

More like this

What, you ask, has Sharon been duing, besides getting mud and manure on her? (I feel like there's been a theme to some of my recent posts, no?) I'm sure you have nothing but this on your mind - the doins a'transpirin at my house being the focus of whole tens of people (well, maybe one ten on a…
First, there's the end of summer canning and preserving - the warm dry weather has meant the most astonishing harvest, all of which needs attention yesterday. Second, there's the beginning of fall getting everything ready before winter on a farm, most of which involves carrying heavy things (hay…
I know, I know, I promised you that Eric and I would start doing joint posts months ago, and we haven't done a single one. Sorry folks. Besides the fact that it has been a crazy-busy period in our lives, there's another reason. We didn't fully grasp the reality of this blogging together project…
Life has been proceeding more or less apace, and it feels like a long time since I've sat down and contemplated anything, much less my Anyway Project goals. At the same time, all this business is a series of steps on the way to actually many of the things done. I hope that's true of all of you!…

Not boring at all - I understand completely the relief. Good luck with the five honors students finishing next semester. Now, go take good care of yourself; I understand that a good IPA can chase away the cold.

Now, go take good care of yourself

I second that emotion. Now is not the time to have a weakened immune system. Within the last week, a fellow ASU staff member in my office was out sick with whooping cough and another got pneumonia.

I understand that a good IPA can chase away the cold.

Theraflu in the green box works pretty well too.
