The quote is from John Donne (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Donne), but I can't figure out any specific geographic connection there.

My wild guess is that it's some Christian holy site in or around Israel. It may also be an area that is near the attacks going on there now.

That's my two cents. Anyone care to run with it, or prove me completely wrong?

I think it has something to do with this strange photograph of a jellyfish or something, and a word that does not appear in the Bible. Here's another photo, of microtubules, I think.
