Well, we've done it. Just over one year has passed since we hit 500,000 comments, and now, September 16, 2008, at 8:32 a.m. Eastern Time, we've reached 1,000,000. Hooray!
Check out the ScienceBlogs homepage throughout the day; we'll be rotating some of what we thought were the best of the million.
If you're near a major city (or even a not-so-major city), you may be able to check out of the 15 reader parties that various ScienceBloggers are throwing throughout the world. See the line-up here.
If you leave a comment before September 30, don't forget to enter in the ScienceBlogs comment contest. Top prize is an all-expenses paid trip to the Big Apple for a science adventure.

Wanted: Science Blogger(s)
Hello. I co-edit a fan site for Fringe. The site is currently receiving a few thousand visitors daily. We'd like to add a real science column to the mix. The column will serve as a peer review for the science presented in the show, be it fringe, quasi, bad, etc., i.e. The column will be a great way to promote your personal science themed blog/writing (read: that's what's in it for you).
To apply, submit a critique of the science of a current or past episode of Fringe complete with a closing signature (who you are, what you do, where you blog, etc.).
This is a great achivement and many congrats to you all at Science Blogs! I am nearing the same mark upon one of my blogs but unfortuately 999,999 of them are simply spammers trying it on! if your wondering, the valid singular (1) post was because I forgot to delete the "hello world" post!!
Thanks for providing a place with such stimulating blogs!
Is there a link to the millionth comment somewhere?
unfortunately there is no way for us to know what the millionth comment was, simply that we reached one million.
Behold, for it is I, your 1,000,000th commentator! (maybe)
Marvel at my wit and gasp at my lack of meaningful content. Yes, I have done fouled your precious 1,000,000th comment with a lame movie joke. Mwawawawa!!!
This is what you get for not setting up a 'science blog' party near my city. If you do not comply with my demand I shall do the same with your 2,000,000th comment too! I shall return...
