If it's Wednesday, it must be Stanford

Oy, that Myers guy is babbling in California again. Tonight at 7pm, I'll be in Main Quad Building 420 (Jordan Hall), room 041, at Stanford. Two more days. I'll make it.

Many people have asked where I'll be tomorrow. Again at 7pm, look for me in Weaver 110 on the Sierra College campus.

Don't look for me on the day after, though. I'll be slumped in a plane, on my way back to spending a delightful 12 hours or so in Minneapolis.

There's a lot going on the online geo-world tomorrow. It's Blog Action Day, and the subject is Climate Change. It's Earth Science Week's first Women in Geoscience day. And, at 10:15 am Pacific time, it's California's second annual earthquake drill - the Shake Out. I don't live in California, but I…
My life isn't easing up just yet as we wend our way to the imminent end of the term. I'm going to be flitting about over the next few days. I'm chauffeuring #1 son to a job interview in Minneapolis today, and then returning him home to St Cloud again sometime this evening. I'm planning to be in St…
When I was a freshman in college, at Texas A&M University, on Tuesday and Thursday mornings I had two classes back-to-back in the same lecture hall. Because of a weird scheduling fluke, these classes were about 45 minutes apart, though. During that break, sometimes I would go eat breakfast,…
Last year, I recounted my personal experience on September 11, 2001, and I offered some commentary about what that day--and the events of the ensuing year--meant to me and to American politics in general. I've reposted my 9/11 story again this year, below. (11 September 2006) When I was a freshman…

See you later!

It was good to see you at Berkeley - Q&A session was fun. You handled the "aquatic ape" questions much more kindly than I would have (what's up with that anyway?!). A great time was had by all. Sorry I bailed on going out after. (Wimpy, I know, I hang my head in shame).

Any plans to party with the Godless in the Twin Cities before you head out into the prairie?

The San Jose Mercury news reports this morning that the WBC are going to protest at Gunn High School in Palo Alto on Friday morning. According to the loons from Kansas, the recent suicide-by-Caltrain of a recent graduate was due to godlessness, so they're going to picket his old HS and piss everyone off, which seems to be what they're good at.

So, if you stick around until Friday, you could meet the Phelps family!

Just don't tell the Trophy Wife that it's clear, sunny and about 60 in Northern California today.

I missed SCC last night! Damn! Finals week for my kids, I had to be there for them.

I feel sorry for myself.

Hope you can go for a nice walk around Capitol Park before you leave town. I just walked past it; it's pretty out there today.

I'll see you there! I'm looking forward to it.

Actually Phelps was at Stanford this morning.

Could you imagine Phelps trying to protest at PZ's lecture?

That would be something for the ages!

I plan on going out to support the Gunn High School kids on Friday, Phelps is supposed to be there at 7:30 in the morning.

@#14,

Yes, I wish I could go down and watch the freak-show, but unfortunately I've other stuff to do on Friday morning.

Sitting here while PZ's setting up, I'm going to resist the temptation to live-blog PZ's talk on his own blog :o)
