I'm a bit late on this one, but Deborah Lipstadt won the National Jewish Book Award for best book about the Holocaust for her book History on Trial: My Day in Court with David Irving.
I started reading the book a couple of months ago, but got sidetracked. Last weekend, I picked it up again and plowed through nearly half of it in one sitting. It's that compelling, and it reveals much about David Irving that I didn't already know, particularly his anti-Semitism. For anyone interested in the Holocaust and Holocaust denial, it's well worth reading.

As good as I am sure HISTORY ON TRIAL IS -- I haven't had a chance to read it yet -- people shold start with the book that got the whole thing started, DENYING THE HOLOCAUST, which was, for many people, including me, the first intimation that there WERE idiots and anti-Semites out there denying the Holocaust.
On Irving, Professor Richard Evans (King's College London, Modern History) who was the chief witness for Lipstadt wrote a damn good book about the trial called Telling Lies about Hitler. Lots of detail about Irving's bad stats.
That's sitting on my shelf, to be read next.
