Texas Flooding

I don't have anything to say right now about the flooding in Texas. But I am watching, and learning, and paying attention to various sources.

But, for now, you've got to see this:

Sorry about the abrupt end to the liveblogging last night; Firefox crashed, and CoverItLive wouldn't let me log back in as the moderator. Anyway, it's a good day to be a liberal. As you all know by now, it was Obama in an absolute landslide. He won by a huge margin in the electoral vote, and by a…
Who? Yes, the Who too! So, I'm watching a bit of the Kennedy Center's annual super duper awards. Morgan Freeman won an award. Did you know he was discovered as the driver in Driving Miss Daisy, though he had a long and undistinguished career before that? Did you know that B.B. King has gotten…

Dude get out of that car!

Get on the roof or something. Talk to emergency services first before you go on radio / TV. (I'd presume he already has but then they said they were talking to people for him so, dunno?)

Scary footage.

A West Virginia politician recently stated that coal mining could help pay for climate adaptation.

Trees do remove carbon from the atmosphere. But, then, global warming comes along, makes forest fires more common and more severe, and the carbon goes right back into the atmosphere. If there are enough fires, trees can switch from a sink to a source.

NB. Seems that flooded car youtube clip has now "been removed by the user." Pity, twas one hell of a dramatic clip Not sure if there'd be a mirror of it somewhere?
