Who?
Yes, the Who too!
So, I'm watching a bit of the Kennedy Center's annual super duper awards. Morgan Freeman won an award. Did you know he was discovered as the driver in Driving Miss Daisy, though he had a long and undistinguished career before that? Did you know that B.B. King has gotten really huge and apparently can't stand up any more, but can still crank it out on Lucille? (Lucille is the name of the guitar.)
Twyla Tharp also got an award. I've always been impressed with her. I've seen her live numerous times. In case you don't know who Twyla Tharp is: Have you seen Michale Jackson dance? Have you watched the choreography on the TV show "So you think you can dance?" Or, for that matter, have you seen any professional modern dance ever? Then you've witnessed Tharp's influence. The shoulder drop, the slide, and the push are all her moves.
Anyway, Jack Black introduced Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey, who are getting this award too. Then they did a very nice video survey of The Who, Townshend, Daltrey, etc. etc., and at the end everybody gave a standing ovation.
Now at this point we must pause and make sure everyone understands what is going on here. The Kennedy Center is like the national performing arts center. If we had a King, and a performance was demanded for the King, it would be there. In fact, when this award ceremony happens, the President of the United States is present, in a box, with the wife.
Oh, at the end of the musical tribute to The Who, it appears that they had about 45 members of the New York (Or DC?) Fire Department in the chorus singing "Teenage Wasteland" ...
Wasted!
So, you see, this is Jack Black, who is a totally out of the closet atheist, giving accolade to the AntiChrist Band (The Who) who are being honored by a group of several dozen First Responders.
For George Bush.
So the part that made me laugh was this: During the standing ovation part, the cameras scanned the audience, and the all seeing lens fell upon the face of the President just has he pulled a look that was absolutely priceless. If you ever get to see it, see it. Look for it on YouTube. It was like, Oh. The Who. The Antichrist. Ick. Whatever. Why am I doing this. I want to go back to Texas.
This is the first time George Bush ever made me laugh. Let's hope it does not happen again.

Really? His acceptance speech for the Nobel Peace Prize should be hysterical.
Why should he be embarrassed? He already has tried to quote The Who
...or maybe he remembered
Back when I used to actually listen to George, since 2004 I switch off whatever happens to be on when Bush speaks, George would inspire laughter quite regularly.
"This is the first time George Bush ever made me laugh. "
I find that hard to believe.

I pick up my guitar and play
Just like yesterday
And I get on my knees and pray
We don't get fooled again.
Cause, fool me once shame on me...fool me twice, something something, mumble, mumble, you can't get fooled again.
' the hell?! You describe the scene for us and then tell us to find it ourselves? WHERE'S THE SODDING VIDEO?! Strider no like! Bad medicine!
Strider: I wrote this post as it was happening. I'll look for it, but I'll bet you could find it faster and tell me where it is!
(Looking at my watch)
Let's see how long this takes you. .... one ... two ... three... four...
Here it is ... but I didn't see "W"

I'll bet he really enjoyed honoring Steisand, too.
Maybe a performance from Condi would be more to his liking. She's a trained pianist and he just appointed her to the Board of Trustees at the Kennedy Center. I'm sure he could talk her into a gig.
I wonder what G W is going to do with all the spare time he will have on his hands once Obama takes office?
I found a Resume that someone has written up ... who's going to employ this guy??
https://www.idlogik.com/myresume/georgebush/resume
I think he'll be sitting pretty sweet with all the post presidency perks! (and im sure he has his fingers in a few construction companies that are based in iraq!! ;)
I've seen michael j dance, and all those other dances. I think that Twyla Tharp is as much an attrocity on our world as dubya is, and has been for a longer time.
At least we can hope that gwb will foad now.
