I don't know how many people watched Duke play Seton Hall tonight, but if not you missed one of the most dominant games I've ever seen. Seton Hall went up 2-0. 22 missed shots later, it was 26-4 and all but over. The freshmen from Duke were really impressive, which bodes well for the future. They lose 4 seniors from this year's team, but the team lines up perfectly for next year. Paulus, Nelson, Pocius, Boykin and McRoberts start, Boateng and McClure off the bench, plus next year's freshmen. But this year, they're definitely the favorites to win it all. Just a brilliant performance all the way around, and I like the fact that even when they were up by 50 points, they were still playing defense like they were losing.

And I don't mean the rape controversy on campus, I mean the basketball team for next year. They're already losing JJ Redick, Shelden Williams, Lee Melchionni and Sean Dockery to graduation, but now they're likely going to lose the only two big men they had returning next year. Eric Boateng, a…
The NCAA tournament is finally here and I'm excited. Duke got the overall #1 seed, but I don't think they're the favorite to win it all. UConn is clearly the best, deepest and most talented team and I think they have to play down a bit for anyone else to beat them, including Duke. Frankly, I think…
One-sentence review of this game: I don't think I've ever seen so many two-foot shots missed in a Division I game.
Maryland played Duke last night in the overhyped confines of Cameron Indoor Stadium, and for the way Dick Vitale talked about it, you would've thought that they were playing for first…
I don't often write about sports, but since last night was one of the high holy days for a college basketball fan, I have to. For those who don't know, I am a Duke fan. No, I'm not a bandwagon fan who jumped on when they became the New York Yankees of collge basketball, I've been a Duke fan since…
Hmmmmm. A reasonably intelligent [usually] blogger whose posts are [as a rule] informed by reason and common sense nevertheless goes ga-ga over the start of yet another season of young men with pituitary problems running around on TV in their skivies bouncing inflated balls and throwing them through hoops.
Maybe evolution isn't a fact after all.....
