I'm normally not one to believe in the improbable, but someone has laid some serious ju-ju on me. While away at my fabulous geek-cation, my computer bit it, my furnace at home died, and....(God, I can hardly type it...)...MY DSL WENT DOWN!!!1!
Just in time for the launch of my brand-spanking-new blog, just in time for me to share all of my insightful thoughts from ScienceOnline09, my tech life imploded.
So please, dear reader, give me a few days to try to fix everything (meh, the furnace can wait...it's above zero. But the computer and teh tubes...NOOO!!!)

The series of interviews with some of the participants of the 2008 Science Blogging Conference was quite popular, so I decided to do the same thing again this year, posting interviews with some of the people who attended ScienceOnline'09 back in January.
Today, I asked Betul Kacar of the Counter…
ScienceOnline09 is rapidly approaching, and I'm very excited about my "geek-cation".
I'll be co-moderating a session on anonymity with Abel from TerraSig, and I'll be leading a session on Blogging 101 at which you can actually start a real blog. w00t!
I'm also hoping to talk some people into…
Hi Folks - It has been a week since I hit the wall and took off from the computer, and I'm back, at least sort of. The combination of a lingering illness, exhaustion from trying to finish the book, stress from a book not doing what I wanted to and just way too much time in front of the computer…
One of the lamest things people do on blogs is (in my humble opinion) write about their own blogroll. I mean: how banal, vapid and insipid can you be? Anyway, on an unrelated note, observant readers will note... that I've just updated my blogroll - hooray! - and have added a brand-spanking-new and…
Congrats on the new blog. While I dont't believe in juju of any kind(my cousin's *creole* wife might debate me on this),the furnaces have a way of expiring in January, as mine did a few years ago.Probably more to do with senescence and workload than kismet, still it *feels* like bad juju....Be that as it may,I left you a comment during your recent exodus about Ornish as woo-enabler ("The War Has Begun..."),if not full-tilt Chopra blunderer.
Um, would you mind keeping the juju to yourself? I left NC with a dying hard drive on my laptop and got home to discover a bookshelf had detached itself from the wall to land on my desktop (which somehow still works). If I find that something's happened to the thumb drive where all my writing is backed up, we're going to have to have a little talk.
We're patient. Well, not really, but we like you, so we'll wait. :)
Ugh. Sorry to hear it!!
