Eamon, I was alluding to what Stephanie Bernstein (widowed in the bombing) said at one time on BBC about political/trade undercurrents which was picked up by BBC quite late in the game. While blogs and new media may have conspiracy theories in abundance, they are far more courageous, quick and have less strings attached to them than traditional TV.

I don't see how you can call it orchestrated. They're reporting on headline news. True orchestration would probably require the absence of dissenting views.
As for political/trade undercurrents - unless al-Megrahi suddenly has a miraculous recovery they will have little bearing on the case, save in the mind of conspiracy theorists
