Really, this is titillating?

The other brouhaha this week has been over Facebook banning breastfeeding pictures because they are "obscene" and then banning a Canadian mother who had posted such pictures. Tara did a great job summarizing the stink.

Here's what I think about this:

I mean, honestly, my flabby, white, stretched out stomach is more disturbing than Minnow eating her breakfast.

This picture is a couple of months old. She's got a lot more hair than that now.

Facebook, for anyone unfamiliar, is a social networking site, a more organized and less gaudy version of MySpace. Originally started for college students, Facebook opened up to anyone with an email address earlier this year. You can post a mini biography, let others know what you're up to, keep in…
Long-time readers will remember that Minnow has sleep issues. At nine months old, she is still waking up between 4 and 8 times per 11 hour night. But things now are a hell of a lot better than they used to be, because now I can cuddle or nurse her right back to sleep in most cases. It wasn't that…

Hee hee! Looks like Minnow might even be giving the finger to all those anti-breastfeeding-photo morons over at facebook!

LOL! That's great. I truly don't get why this sort of thing keeps happening. It's ridiculous.

That's an adorable picture of you and Minnow! And I'm sick of people who say that breastfeeding is obscene! Funny how they don't take down all the pictures of "college co-eds"...

Aww, that's awesome. I wish I had pictures of myself nursing my kids; most of the ones I have from their first year are both of us conked out together...

Where I come from we got sick of this sort of idiocy, so we smacked 'em over the head with the law:

It is protected by law in about half of US states, but that doesn't cover facebook or prevent places like Applebee's, Victoria's Secret, and Fossil from harassing mothers. Until they are sued.

I used to work in a science museum where a volunteer would insist that nursing mothers do so only in the restroom out of concern that the children in the museum might see. Argh.
