It was only a matter of time until someone created a sex toy for dogs.

From the description:

A dog is an animal with an enormous sexual appetite which can't be controlled. Many methods consist in artificial ways to stop dogs inborn caractere. These methods like castration or meds are going against the nature laws.

So... is this a joke?

I'm going to be coming out with a new post in my Evolution series later this week, but in the meantime, for those of you haven't seen them, I'm reposting my first two Evolution posts, beginning with the one that started the series: The Curious Case of Dogs. Man's best friend is much more than a…
Dog owners have a way - sometimes within DAYS of first becoming dog owners - of becoming EXPERTS on animal behavior. It blows my mind. These are people who observe their animals displaying interesting or curious behaviors and make up things like "dogs like being put in tiny cages, actually, because…
If there's one thing about antivaxers, it's that they're single-minded beyond belief. No matter what the chronic health problem, it's always about the vaccines. To them, vaccines are always the cause. Autism? Vaccines must be the cause. Asthma? vaccines. Diabetes? Obviously vaccines. Sudden infant…
If you are a meat eater, you probably appreciate the texture and flavor of a nice piece of loin, or a properly cooked pork chop, or a chicken breast that is moist and flavorful. But what is it about hot dogs that you appreciate? The pasty enigmatic texture? The idea that the casing either is, or…

"...is an animal with an enormous sexual appetite which can't be controlled"

isn't that why the species that are currently plodding around are *still* plodding around? without a sexual appetite driving our species to procreate for hundreds of thousands of years, we all (unfortunately) wouldn't be here. controlling sex drive may be adaptive to fit into the social norms established by human society, but i'm not sure that we can apply the same rationale to dogs. it doesn't seem adaptive for them to control their mating behaviors at all.

but if someone wants to make a buck helping dogs project their evolutionary survival skill set onto inanimate objects, let them be my guest. just don't call it less artificial.

How is the dog attracted to this? Does it emit doggie pheromones?

same way dogs are attracted to my leg
