Now I'm one of those birders who's always struggled immensely with gull ID so I'm not quite ready to wholeheartedly agree with Jared or Blake's theories but do think they one of may be on to something.

Brian, you reversed the image! The gull is on the OTHER side of the lighthouse. Just flip the slide around.

It's a Ring-billed Gull.

The gull has been found, but now someone stole the lighthouse. Because the door was left ajar? Or the lighthouse attendant was gullible?

You can see from the posts above what we did to amuse ourselves while sitting at our computers in August.
