So many books, articles, and documentary films have been produced about the life of Charles Darwin that it is difficult to keep track of all the Darwiniana, but the recently-released feature film Creation is something special. It is not a straight biography, nor is it an entirely fictionalized…
There's a new movie being developed on the life of Charles Darwin that actually has the potential to be good. It's based on Randal Keyne's book, Annie's Box(amzn/b&n/abe/pwll), which is an excellent source that humanizes the man well. It also has a good cast so far, although, seriously,…
A new movie about Darwin is in the works—

This weekend marks the U.S. premiere of Creation, featuring Paul Bettany as Charles Darwin and Jennifer Connelly as his wife Emma. It's an adaptation of Darwin descendant Randal Keynes' Annie's Box, an account of Darwin's struggle to decide whether to publish the Origin while overcoming the death…

Hopefully, that will be less dominant a role in the movie and the more human story takes the lead.

Very interesting indeed. Just checked over at the message board for the movie at IMDB which includes thread referring to the movie's website and an interview with Paul Bettany in Nature...

I like that having played a fictitious predecessor of Darwin in Master and Commander; the Far Side of the World in the character of Maturin, Bettany is now more able to directly approach Darwin himself.
I am looking forward to it.
