Not so long ago it seemed that the "Lucy's Legacy" exhibit, which features the world's most famous fossil hominin, was coming to an end. The exhibition failed to bring in the crowds that were expected and there were doubts as to whether it would continue. According to a story about the exceptionally-talented paleo-artist Viktor Deak that appeared in this week's New York Times, however, it looks like Lucy is coming to Manhattan;
[Deak's] 78-foot-long mural showing six million years' worth of the proto-humans whose bony bits have been found in northeast Africa is coming to Manhattan in June as part of the exhibit "Lucy's Legacy."
I have not seen any official announcement yet, but I imagine that "Lucy's Legacy" is going to go on display at the American Museum of Natural History (where Deak works in the anthropology department). When I find out the location of the exhibit for certain, I will post it here. In the meantime, though, check out the article on Deak. He has done some amazing work, and I look forward to checking out his new mural.
Update: I had checked the official website earlier this week, but I guess I missed the announcement. The "Lucy's Legacy" exhibit is now running in Times Square in New York City. There are more details at the official website, and thanks to Dan for the lead.

Cool! If Lucy does come to AMNH, I will rent a car and drive down there. Maybe we can have another afternoon at the museum...

Phase 6" in the context of "mild" novel H1N1 flu. They would have much less to worry about if they had been doing a good job all along of informing the public at teachable moments. The public would better understand possible/unfolding scenarios ... and would better trust their public authorities about this.
Sounds great! I can feel a photo blog in the works
