In the opening, the reporter describes the white whale as a creature "some scientists might have disappeared from the world's oceans." Huh? Is he saying that some scientists thought the genes for albinism have been bred out of all living whale species? Or even from just the depicted killer whale population? Later in the report the narrator mentions that while killer whales have been spotted before in 2001 and 1993. Albinism in whales is an understandably rare condition, but who are these "scientists" who presumed it extinct?
