Wonder Woman The Movie?!

i-f61f414ffad133f098c91aef99777cc4-wonder woman.jpgCan it, oh can it be true? As a young lady who regularly goes heroine every Halloween, I couldn't be more excited to hear Hollywood may be on the verge of developing a new, strong, independent female role model! In an age of too many superhero movies about men of steel, men who spin webs, turn green, dark knights, and damsels in distress... Is Wonder Woman really on the horizon for 2009?

I hope Firefly creator Joss Whedon reconsiders writing and directing the film and we'll see the DC Comics superheroine hit the big screen soon!

I went to see Randall Munroe, creator of xkcd, a few weeks ago at MIT. Unfortunately the line to get him to sign books was about fifty frenzied geeks long, so I didn't stay for that. But I did enjoy his dialogue with the audience, which mainly consisted of answering questions ranging from…

If one thing's for sure, it's that the world needs more visible independent female role models. In film as superheros, yes, and also as science journalists, writers, scientists, and more.

Here's hoping.

Female brain acumen spotlighted around the world---
I'm for that!

Sheril, you are too cute.
