This African bird has a truly peculiar scientific name (can anyone tell me how it got this weird name?), but if you can't identify the species, you can at least tell me which taxonomic family this bird is placed in.

Please name at least one field mark that supports your identification.

The Baglafecht Weaver, Ploceus baglafecht, is a species of bird in the Ploceidae family. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests found in Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia.

This looks like maybe another weaver bird? (That would make it Ploceidae).

Searching around in weaver birds on line (because it's more fun than grading), I'm guessing a Baglafecht Weaver. No clue where it got it's name.

Well, gosh, I really am avoiding grading.

IF this is a Baglafecht Weaver, then my googling around suggests it was named by one Francois Marie Daudin. Here's his wikipedia thingy.

My dog, I feel inadequate. By the time he was my age, he'd named about a bazillion species and been dead for nearly 20 years. :/
