I have been following your subway art postings but don't hit sci-blogs everyday. Happy belated B'day
thank you, kevin for following the subway art series! it's a labor of love, so i am to know that glad you also appreciate it.
Surfbird, . Was surprised to see a flock of a dozen or so up at Bodega a month or two ago; I'm used to seeing them in ones and twos.
Oh, yeah, fieldmarks. (Sorry, not awake yet.) Sturdy shape, all-dark back, cheerful yellow legs, bib going to fine streaky spots on breast and belly. Also its stance, typically not on tippytoes.
Surfbird, based on that pigeon-esque beak, fine spots on the flanks, and gray upperparts.
