If you've been conscious while reading my blog, you'll notice that I have started the summer by adding a few reader questions to my left sidebar for you to answer. Because I am a scientist, I love to collect data. But I am collecting this data for another reason: I am working on a book and would like to know more about who my readers are, so you can help me by answering these questions. Your answers are anonymous, but you also can add a comment to each poll that you answer by clicking on the "view" button for each question and using the comment section there, or you can comment here, or you can send me comments in email! (I promise I won't bite).

Every so often on Cognitive Daily, someone will post a comment asking for help on a paper they're writing for school. It's pretty clear where these people come from: they've done a Google search on video games or whatever it is that interests them, and our post is the first thing they've found that…
I think its pretty obvious to even the most casual observer of this blog, I am not a professional writer. I am a scientist-in-training who is madly in love with viruses, and wants the general public to understand how cool viruses are too, so I write this blag.

Everyone loves free books, right? Well, I know I do, and since I've got a huge stack of books in my apartment that are seeking a loving home, I want to share them with you. These books are duplicates of review copies, advance reading copies and uncorrected proofs as well as some books that I…
Chris Anderson, editor of Wired and author of The Long Tail, recently raised some juicy issues about bringing a Media 2.0 sort of transparency to a Media 1.0 (okay, Media 1.4) "traditional" magazine like Wired. His proposals address questions that I, as a writer mainly in 1.0 venues like print…
C'mon, this is Scienceblogs. "PC or Mac" is going to turn out a whole bunch of "Other" if you don't add "Linux" to the list.
i am asking about computer identity, not OS. should I ask about which OS you all are using, too?
okay, i changed the computer question to an OS question .. now you have to answer it again (sorry about that).
Overeducated and over 50 is ahead! Geezers rule. Wooooo. In your face, 18-29 undergrads!!!
Ahem. Where is my high school dropout button please? rb
By the way, don't you/they already know which OS is being used to view the site? rb
using sitemeter, i can see the OS info for the most recent users only. i have not spent much time looking at google analytics, which is what seed uses, so i am not sure if this info is obvious for everyone who ever looks at my site. i guess i'll have to poke on google analytics, now.
What do I answer if I have an odd or terrifying cat?
My jade plants are offended by your kingdom-specific bias and demand equal poll time.
