An African climbing mouse, perhaps? Or a variety of spiny rat?

Though the tail seems rather thick...might even be a pygmy opossum?

Mystery Rodent, or Mystery Marsupial?

Even I am stumped; I believe it should be a rodent, although I can't discount the possibility of it being a marsupial just yet. The problem is whether if it's arodent, whether it's a cricetid or murid, and what continent this critter hails from, which would go a long way towards narrowing down the list of suspects.

Is it just me, or could the Monito del Monte (Dromiciops gliroides) be a possibility? There's something about this photo which I find similar to the art.

hrm, yeah, it could be a marsupial, couldn't it?

i have no idea of the continent it's from, nor whether it's a marsupial or a rodent .. i think this one may remain a mystery.

How about Hydromys chrysogaster, or the Australian Water Rat? That white tipped thick tail is a distinctive feature of that species, though this one looks like it has some gerbil in it.
