Would that be Smilodon behind him?
I'm starting to wonder how big the AMNH subway station is. It seems to have a bigger collection of vertebrates than the museum.
Bob
That is one *fat* jaguar.
i think that is a smilodon back there, i should try to get a picture of the shadow beast but it is so large that i can't quite get it in one shot the first time i tried.
if i am not mistaken, the subway platform is two blocks long -- the same length as the longer trains (A & B) that stop there. but the museum has an incredibly huge collection of animals, and what you see displayed in the museum is only 1-5% of all the animals in their complete collections. for example, the bird collections are well over one million now, and less than 1% of their birds are on display.
