Its Red Kangaroo Macropus rufus. Largest of the extant kangaroos found right across the drier interior of Australia.
But what is the large critter they are in front of?
i am not entirely sure (it is an extinct animal, that much i know). but i can go back there and get another picture and ask you guys to identify the animal.
