JK Rowling, author of the popular Harry Potter series, released the name of the seventh and last book in the series today. To learn the name of the book, you must go to her site and play a game of hangman.
Rowling's U.S. publisher, Scholastic Inc., released a brief statement Thursday announcing the name of the world's most anticipated children's book, the finale to her phenomenally popular fantasy series.
No publication date or other details were offered. Rowling is still working on the book, she explained on her Web site in an entry posted early Thursday.
''I'm now writing scenes that have been planned, in some cases, for a dozen years or even more,'' she wrote. ''I don't think anyone who has not been in a similar situation can possibly know how this feels: I am alternately elated and overwrought. I both want, and don't want, to finish this book (don't worry, I will.)''
Clues for the title are available below the fold, also as you help decorate the house;
- Go to Rowling's official site, which incidentally, is also listed on my sideboard.
- Click on the eraser on the desktop and you will be transported into the room that you see above.
- There is a mirror in this room. Click on the farthest doorknob in the mirror's reflection.
- Click on the center of the door next to the mirror.
- Click on the top of the mirror.
- Find the cobweb next to the door and click on that.
- Now go to the windchimes outside the window and click on the second windchime from the right and hold down your mouse key. This will turn the chime into a key that will open the lock to the door next to the mirror. Drag the key to the lock and release it. It will open the door.
- Click on the wrapped gift behind the door and it will open, giving you a chance to work out the name of the book yourself using a game of hangman.

That was fun.
Incidentally, I'm pretty sure I know where one of the Horcruxes is. I'm interested to know if any other HP fans out there also think they know.
I just hope one of them isn't in Scunthorpe. There are somethings young minds should not be exposed to.
