Congratulations, you got 7/8 correct! |
I got the first question wrong; John Quincy Adams is not the same person as John Adams.

Watch out! One question has a correct answer and a MORE correct answer, and in another question they meant "neutron", not "neuron".
(Hat-tip: John Lynch)
A few months ago I passed eighth grade math. Now I've gone and passed eight grade science. I feel so accomplished :)

That was fun!
What was your score?
I got all 8 right, though I confess I guessed on the Mayflower Compact question.
Anyone notice a _slight_ contradiction between the two
sentences below?
Could You Pass 8th Grade History?
You Failed 8th Grade US History
5/8. Not bad for a foreigner, even if it is a fail.
This is the best question:
"How does the US Constitution maintain a republican government?"
NOT "a democratic government."
Big difference.
I passed with 6/8 - not bad for another foreigner.
7/8, a B+. Mayflower Compact tripped me up. I shall have to read it on the Web. Has anyone in this readership actually had to or elected to read it at length at any time in their lives?
7/8. Had no idea who was impeached. Not bad for a foreigner, either.
8/8. The Mayflower Compact question was an easy exercise in the process of elimination. Promising to write a constitution was eliminated because in the early 17th century written constitutions were scarcer than hens teeth, establishing a new king would have been getting above themselves a bit, and religious freedom was definitely not a feature of the Massachusetts colony.
So those three choices were right out, leaving proclaiming allegiance to the king as the only non-absurd answer, as well as a practical bit of sucking up for a bunch of would-be colonists who didn't even know how to feed themselves to do.
BTW, for coturnix, the guy who got impeached was Andrew Johnson. IIRC, he escaped conviction and removabl from office by only one vote in the Senate.
Not bad for a foreigner.
that's odd, i was going to say that my score wasn't bad for an American!
