The Blogosphere Celebrates PZ's Hatchday

I have been collecting links to all the birthday wishes that were posted for PZ so everyone can enjoy them (yes, things are a little crazy at the moment because I have a job interview today, too).

If I have missed the link to your birthday wish, please do send it to me so I can add it to the list.

Note: Squid photo by Adam Laverty (I am no expert on squishy creatures, but isn't that really a cuttlefish in the photo and not a squid? The photographer identified it as a squid, which is why I named it as such, too).

10,000 Birds managed to post a birthday wish, despite the fact that Mike, the author, is currently in a meeting on the west coast

Aetiology sends PZ hatchday wishes in the form of a blog carnival with a top secret message embedded inside!

Coeruleus (I love the name of this blog, by the way)

Creek Running North gets together with Olduvai George to provide a lovely picture and a wacky story that you will love. (I kidnapped Carl yesterday, so he didn't even see his contribution until I showed it to him yesterday evening).

The Daily Transcript composes a cephalopod poem

Dharma Bums have, as always, a lovely collection of photographs from the Pacific Northwest, where PZ grew up

Discovering Biology in a Digital World -- Sandra has been busy making a birdthday cake for PZ and writing poetry just for the occasion.

Yes, today, PZ is 50 years old! Archy, Grrrlscientist and myself are compiling linkfests today. Just make sure that you have the word "Myers" in your post (having just "PZ" messes up with some search engines - too short). This year, Dan Rhoades is the first out of the box with a cool tentacled…
Here's the first volley of cephalopod recognition posts I've received. Do send me more, and I'll put them up later. Do me a favor and put "Cephalopod Awareness" in your subject line so I can sort them out more easily. The blog that kicked this all off, Cephalopodcast, has a vintage octopus…
Some of you may have noticed that there is another award on my left sideboard, the Intellectual Blogger Award. Part of the requirements for receiving this award is that the award recipient (me, in this case) must choose five blogs that make her think. I decided that I would choose blogs that…

No Phawrongula? I'm shocked.

I join the chorus wishing you well in that job interview. (Have you ever considered a job out here in the Midwest?)

i was disappointed by the lack of phawrongula, too. i sent 'em email, but i guess they were busy spoofing someone else this year.

and of course i'd take a job in the midwest! well, if it's a real job and not the formal fakery that i have been subjected to these past two years. but that's a rant best left for when i have the time and energy.

I grew up in the midwest. In actuality, even though I have a fairly nice setup where I am, I still wish I could return there, particularly Michigan, Ohio, or the Chicago area.

Maybe one day...

I wasn't aware that Chicago was included in the midwest - seems rather northern to me.
