Here is a prehistoric album ("prehistoric" because it's vinyl) to separate UK bird lovers from their hard-earned funds. It is currently on sale on eBay in the UK (click image to be magically transported there). After you buy it, be sure to burn a CD for me.
Thanks, Ian!

They're fighting for our freedoms. And in order to fight for our freedoms, thousands of miles away from home, thousands of miles from their sweethearts and husbands/wives, they must be kept pure and without sin. Therefore, Christian groups demand the military not allow PX stores to sell porn (aka…
It's been a while since I've done one of these, so I thought I'd highlight some of my more recent musical discoveries.
Long Way Home by Kelley Hunt. So. A month or so ago I'm browsing on the second floor in a local used bookstore and some really cool bluesy music is on their sound system. I…
You, GrrrlScientist, should write a children's book about this bird. I'm serious. Why not have a contribution to the world of light that is interesting to kids as well as informative? Kids love dinosaurs, and this bird was on the cusp. Transitional species. The achievement of flight. The challenges of being the first bird. On and on. Why not? While you're waiting for the teaching dollars to roll in, you could pen a groundbreaking work, full of knowledge of the subject, with the credible background to get a publisher interested. A whole new career. And you'd be doing a service to the reality-based community by planting the seed in little minds. Who would be better for this than you?!?!!
thanks for your kind words, pablo. i am sure there are lots of people out here who could do a good job with this topic: i doubt i am the only one, or even the best one to do it. but that said, i have been poking through my mental file cabinets, looking for an idea that i could transform into a compelling book. several readers are trying to convince me to write a "LabLit" novel, and i am trying to think of something but haven't found any stories/plots that i believe in so far. that's the problem: as an unemployed (YET AGAIN) person, i have a difficult time believing in anything at all, and in identifying and developing a good idea. if i could do just that, i'd be working on a book right now.
An Archaeopteryx book for children would be wonderful! I hope you write it.
