As you know, the National Climate Change Assessment report is out. I'm actually rather overwhelmed with it all. It is a turning point by way of full acknowledgment of the importance of climate change and the need to act. Good for you, government of the United States!
One small item has crossed my desk this morning tangential to the assessment but so deliciously hilarious that I did not want to let it pass without comment.
Part of the roll out of the assessment will involve President Obama speaking with meteorologists across the country. Friend of mine made the remark that Fox News wanted the meteorologists to ask Obama about Benghazi.
I assumed he was joking. But, he was not joking: Fox Host Wants TV Meteorologists To Ask Obama About Benghazi Today (VIDEO)
Personally, I think it is wonderful that FOX wants Al Roker to ask President Obama about Benghazi. I hope he does. They can have a laugh about it. Except it won't be funny.
"How's the weather in Benghazi, Mr. President?"
"They're expecting more drought, probably will cause major civil strife, another civil war in the Middle East. Because of Climate Change. How's the weather in New York, Al?"
"Expecting very high storm surges over the next few years. Otherwise mild today."

How's the underground weather in Tennessee , Al ?
Methane venting levels are close to normal , but we're robbing another galena pillar in Occidental's Elmwood Lead, I mean Zinc mine, underneath my basement ,so radon is up a bit...
However, since we all know the temperature of Earth's mantle is a million degrees , and lead boils on the surface of Venus , we plan to save energy and cut CO2 emissions by switching our clean mercury and cadmium plant to geothermal power in the near future.
Sorry, no more questions.
Idunno @ #1: excellent comeback.
What I wish Obama would do, but he won't because he always keeps a cool head, is lean right across the table and get right in their faces, and say something like this:
"Now you listen up because I'm only going to say this once. You're a liar, and your ideological fanatic bosses are liars, and they are also contributing to the destruction of American farming and ranching, and the deaths of Americans in violent storms. You can tell Roger Ailes [chairman of Fox Noize] that he's as much a traitor as Edward Snowden, and if he objects to that he's welcome to debate me on live television. And I swear to almighty God that when I am done with him he is going to wish he hadn't been born. Have I made myself clear?"

Ronald Reagan - 7 attacks, 94 dead
GWB - 13 attacks 60 dead
Obama - 1 attack 4 dead
It's always good to point out to RWNJs just how much of a loser Reagan was but Benghazi!!! Clinton!!! Benghazi!!! :)
And:
GW Bush on Osama bin Laden 7 months after 9/11: "I don't know where he is. I -- I'll repeat what I said. I truly am not that concerned about him."
Obama on Osama bin Laden 9 1/2 years after 9/11: "I'm not concerned about him either... anymore."
obama finally silenced all Benghazi critics with this short footage http://youtu.be/Pdxlo_Jyq7g
In listing the casualties of Bush II's wars, let's not forget the more than a hundred thousand Iraqis and many in Afghanistan. The latter was less clearly a US invasion, because the Taliban-run government shielded the perpetrators of of 9/11. But too many innocents died. And the Taliban itself grew out of Reagan's decision to arm the Afghanis to fight the Soviet invasion of 1979.
