University of Minnesota College of Design alum Sarah Wolbert promotes an ingenious view of rebalancing urban food systems - one that involves design of detritivore and decomposition systems that eat waste products. This method of using waste as nourishment can actually improve the safety and security of our food supply. Wolbert will share ideas from her graduate design thesis and involve the audience in generating even more solutions.

Sarah, thank you. I read the file you linked to, but I am more of a technology wonk, and want the details of how I can do it if I ever need to.
I was thinking of things like cellulose waste to earthworms to chickens to eggs. Or cellulose to bacteria to freshwater mussels. Or cellulose to mushrooms.
I prefer papers to fancy web designs.
I am only in the preliminary process of multiplicities. However, there are people doing things similar to what you mention ~ check these guys out:

My ideas are more catalysts for conversation than recipes for implementation... Once I get a few more collaborators, this project might be angled down the road you're interested in.
