What do we do about Michele Bachmann????

Well, I suppose we could go get guns and knives and bludgeons and just go KILL HER. That certainly would be a kind of ironic justice. But since we are all peace loving non violent types, I suppose we are going to have to make sure she does not win the next election. Whatever. But clearly, one way or another, we have to figure out a way to

REPLACE MICHELE BACHMANN!!!!

Which is what the Replace Michele Bachmann Web Carnival is all about. The new, revived edition of this carnival is up and it is known as:

Revenge of Daughter of the Replace Michele Bachmann Blog Carnival

Back before the election in November, Stephanie Zvan and I had dinner to discuss the idea of forming a community of like minded bloggers to exchange resources and information. Mike Haurbrich was part of that conversation as well, but not at dinner that particular evening, which was at The Blue…
This week's edition of the Replace Michele Bachmann Web Carnival is the fourth in the series, and is named the "We Told You So" edition. This is because there are several of us living here in Minnesota who have been blogging about Michele Bachmann for some time. There is the Dump Bachmann web…
By "Controlling the Message" I mean setting the agenda, usually by putting something out there that causes other people to shift their own message to be more like yours. I can think of a few spectacular yet small scale examples that are safe to talk about. I'll give you one, although if certain…
As you know, Michele Bachmann, Congressperson for Minnesota's Sixth District, has announced that she will not seek re-election to her seat in Washington DC. Bachmann almost lost her re-election to challenger Jim Graves last year. I'm convinced that had the election been held a few weeks later,…

I was thinking in terms of a wax mannequin, but then realized that the expressive features and increased intelligence would give the show away immediately.

Not funny. Reference to a Palin rally, I know, but...

MB suggesting armed rebellion because the GOP lost their ass in the election is trashy, foolish and likely treasonous. By continuing to repeat it, I think the secret service ought to have a talk with her or maybe we can get the Lauderdale police to 'talk' to her.

I've gotta be honest, I want Michelle Bachmann in office for a very long time. And I hope that some enterprising tv executive gets exclusive rights to follow her around with cameras for a weekly hour long reality television show. Heck, let's go for broke and set up CSPAN4, the 24-hour Michelle Bachmann channel.

George: Read the carnival to which this post links, read the posts to which the carnival links, then come back and tell me about what is funny and not funny.

None of this if funny. None of it. She has only a tiny bit indirectly indicated that the president of the united states should be assassinated. And they still let her walk into the fucking building.

No. Not funny.

(Am I sounding serious enoug?)

No buzzkill intended. She scares me, sure. Fact that a narrow plurality voted for her scares me a lot more. I really worry about someone taking her words literally and doing something stupid and horrible.

It also worries me that she hasn't been censured. And Glen Beck is still on the air because people tune him in.

I was in a hospital in Urbana, IL waiting for surgery years ago, when the story broke about Oklahoma City. Went under wondering what it all meant....

Keep her.

Why?

She is doing bunches to help us show just how insane republicans are towards democrats. She is doing more to push more and more voters away then the best of our efforts could ever do.

It's the same principal with the pope. Let him say the most inane nonsense imaginable, it only strengthens our position as a result.

On the other hand, the longer she stays in office, the more acceptable those positions look in a politician (ditto for Benny the Rat). How many people have to be hurt to make us look good? I think we can manage our images ourselves if either of them is the alternative.

George: Maybe you are still dreaming!!! The whole thing. Eight years of Bush, everything.

Probably not though.

And right, not only does she have to go because this is simply not acceptable, but the people of her district, as stupid as they appear to be, what with electing her and re-electing her and all, deserve better.

"The people of her district, as stupid as they appear to be, what with electing her and re-electing her and all, deserve better."

Maybe they don't. Maybe they don't deserve better. In fact, does the fact that she gets elected worsen their lives? Even when she accuses the government of stealing through taxes, her district receives improvements from the same stimulus plan hat she pretends to reject or even from the earmarks she declares to despise also.

Maybe they just have what they want.

Mankel, there is an industry around here dedicated to persuading people that Bachmann is not only what they want but what they need. Conservative radio, television and print publications are some of the very few companies in the publishing industry that aren't announcing serious cost-cutting measures due to their economic woes.

This is because profit is not the point of these ventures. Putting people like Bachmann in office and keeping them there is. They keep up such a steady stream of "information" supporting that mission that it really isn't a wonder that people are confused. Could her constituents be smarter about their voting? Yes, of course. But they still deserve better.

Heh, I got confused for a second and thought you were talking about Michelle Trachtenberg.

She is doing bunches to help us show just how insane republicans are towards democrats. She is doing more to push more and more voters away then the best of our efforts could ever do.

Yes, keep me there. Because I like to make sure that people understand that not everyone in Minnesota is smart.

She should've been expelled from Congress before, she still should be expelled. But I'm not holding my breath.
