It's right about one thing: doctors do need to be prepared to deal with this.
While religions generally do not encourage this, there are those who really do believe this. CNN does nothing to discourage this. They had a story "brain dead baby recovers," about a miraculous recovery. Except the child was never brain dead, just clinically dead (no pulse), which is very far from being declared brain dead. There was another similar story from CNN. They still have not corrected their error. Dr. Sanjay Gupta (CNN's neurosurgeon and resident expert) does nothing to straighten them out on this. I wrote about it in CNN is Selling Snake Oil - All You Have to Do is Believe. CNN is doing nothing to report about end of life issues accurately.

I agree with those 57%. If there is some omnipotent God, I believe that his/her/its intervention can save the patient. I think a better question to ask is: do you think he would?
