John Edwards will drop out of race this PM

... according to news reports flying around the airwaves.

It will be interesting to see what happens to those currently supporting him. It is likely that if Edwards does not endorse anyone, his supporters would drift to Clinton, since it is believed that Edwards has been collecting the whiter among the white votes (those who would never vote for a black man). On the other hand, those individuals may also never vote for a woman, especially a Clinton.

So, perhaps many of Edward's supporters would drift to out of the primary race entirely, and then go for the Republican nominee during the General Election. Depending, of course, on who that nominee is.

Edwards will likely make his announcement at 1:00 PM EST today. That announcement, and the next seven days, will be very interesting indeed.

I'm looking at an exit poll by NBC and I have thoughts. Gender Gap Much has been made of the fact that Sanders got 55% of female votes, more than 44% for Clinton. That is indeed significant. But little has been said about the fact that among males, 66% voted for Sanders and 32% for Clinton. (55…
You may be asking yourself the same question, especially if, like me, you vote on Tuesday, March 1st. For some of us, a related question is which of the two is likely to win the nomination. If one of the two is highly likely to win the nomination, then it may be smart to vote for that candidate…

"drift to out... entirely, and then go for the Republican nominee"
Sure, but you mentioned that already: Hillary Clinton is a Republican the last time I checked ;-)

I liked Edwards because he seemed smarter and more progressive than the other two, not because of his genetics.

I can't imagine there's more than a handful of Democrats that find both Obama and Hillary so repugnant that they'd vote for any of the Republicans. Ron Paul is the only one not promising more of the same, and even he's a total wackjob.

Why oh why.

Edwards and Gravel were my favorite dems.
