Richard Dawkins interviewed by 3 Quarks Daily

Here. The embed is the best bet if you can view it; the download often fails (server has been slammed?). Only a moderate amount of discussion about religion; Dawkins talks a fair bit about an obscure field, evolutionary biology. Well done.

Mentioning Richard Dawkins is a quick way to polarize a conversation. One acquaintance once told me that she refused to read anything by Stephen Jay Gould because of Dawkins' criticisms while, on the other hand, many of my friends have voiced their exasperation with the English biologist's attacks…
My university has been hosting panel discussions on science, religion, and teaching. I missed the first installment, which consisted of faculty members from science and humanities departments and a local clergyman. The second discussion was led by four students from a course cross listed in Science…
This week's New York Times Book Review features a review of Richard Dawkins's The God Delusion that judges the book fairly harshly: The least satisfying part of this book is Dawkins's treatment of the traditional arguments for the existence of God. The "ontological argument" says that God must…
I have disturbed and distressed Jerry Coyne, because I have dissed the entire field of evolutionary psychology. I find this very peculiar, because in my field, Jerry Coyne has a reputation for dissing all of evo devo, so it can't possibly be that we're supposed to automatically respect every broad…

The embedded video and the download link actually point to the same file, hosted on 3qd, so there shouldn't really be any difference.

(And thanks for the tip.)

On second thought, you're right. If you're streaming the file, you can skip forward to the point where the server gave up (or perhaps the video player does it automatically?), whereas a simple "save as" in the browser will just stop.

But I suspect the embed will only work for Windows (it doesn't work here), and simply using "wget" or some other downloading program can get around that problem anyway.
