Similar to Sarah Palin, Bobby Jindal was heralded by conservatives as offering the belief credentials to be Vice President.

Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal was interviewed by the Sunday NY Times magazine. In yesterday's edition, here's what he said about his support for teaching creationism in public schools:

Did you always want to be in politics? It was not something I anticipated doing. I always thought I'd go to medical school. I got accepted into medical school and did not end up going.

Where were you accepted? At Harvard.

Wow. Why would someone with so much knowledge of biology sign a bill allowing the biblical story of Creation to be taught in science class? I don't think that schools should be run by bureaucrats. I think these decisions need to be made by local school boards. In terms of teaching my own kids at home, I do believe there is a Creator. Catholicism doesn't teach authoritatively on evolution or the origins of life, but we do believe that God is our Creator.

From a 2006 debate: Next, [moderator] Carey asked about teaching alternatives to evolution - such as creationism and intelligent design - in public schools. … PALIN: “Teach both. You know, don’t be afraid of information. “Healthy debate is so important and it’s so valuable in our schools. I am a…
After 8 years of having an Alfred E. Neuman impersonator in the White House, is John McCain really considering this man to be his vice presidential nominee? Governor Bobby Jindal is not just an Alfred E. Neuman impersonator, though. He is a graduate of Brown University, where he majored in…
An important principle in first amendment jurisprudence is that government actions must not be undertaken solely for the benefit of religion. In 1987, the Supreme Court considered a law passed by Louisiana that required teachers who presented "evolution-science" to "balance" it with "creation-…
In a press release from the Louisiana Coalition for Science, Governor Bobby Jindal's college genetics professor asks him not to "hold back the next generation of Louisiana's doctors." The press release introduces an open letter from the group calling for Jindal to veto SB 733, a bill which opens…

Good thing that we don't have a VP candicate who is a young governor who believes THAT kind of stuff.

Jindal doesn't, perhaps, have a 17-year-old daughter who got pregnant out of wedlock, but will get married to prove the support of Family Values 5 months after the fact?

And shouldn't he be holding a gun in one hand, a bible in the other hand, and a mooseburger in yet another hand? Oh, right. In Louisiana, it's Alligator Sausage, not mooseburger. I've had the Alligator Sausage, last time that I was in New Orelans. Kind of dry, so pork has to be added to give it the right texture.

Happy Ramadan! God Bless the GOP.

According to Jindal, the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America is "bureaucrats"?!?

The Repubs probably have him short-listed for the Supreme Court...
