Yesterday marked the one-year anniversary of my call-up to the bigs! Since then I have done 339 posts and have received over 6100 comments. Seems like a good opportunity to thank Seed for putting together this little party, and to all the readers and commenters who have shamelessly enabled my blogging addiction. Here's to another year!

Happy Birthday, Eruptions!
Well, this definitely snuck up on me, but today marks the one-year anniversary for Eruptions! On May 1, 2008, I started this little blog and if anyone told me that a year later I'd be paid for the gig and getting 50,000 views a month, I would have called them nuts.
So,…
I wanted to issue a great big thank-you to all of you who came by to comment on the 4th anniversary of this blog and share with us who you are and why you read. After a slow start, a few blog links and Twitter-prodding by my colleagues got the commenting going full bore. I intend to respond to…
Last July we wrote about the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing and spoke of Buzz Aldrin's autobiography about his battle with alcoholism in the years following. The post drew a comment from a reader who I've renamed "Anon."
Thank you so much for this post.
I am a recovering drug…
One year ago today, Uncertain Principles went live on ScienceBlogs. In honor of the anniversary, here's the first year at the new site, in one graph:
Well, ok, that's not that informative. In fact, for all you know, that could be an NMR trace from a chem experiment-- the little bump to the right…
Congrats Jason. Keep up the good work of battling creationism!
Whatever you do, don't stop now!
I've really come to appreciate the tone of your blog. It's noticeably more reflective — perhaps "scholarly" might not be a bad word — than several others of note. I get the distinct impression you sleep on what you say before you post it (even if proofreading is for wusses). EvolutionBlog is one mirror removed from the fire itself, which is good for keeping the ol' long-term memory in operation.
Jason,
you do a terrific job. I've been reading you for years.
Can't remember when I found your blog, but it certainly seems like more than a year. Congratulations, and keep it up.
I specifically want to thank you for the reports from the intelligent design conference. I *know* I would not have been able to put myself through that. Your posts were measured and observant, kind of anthropological -- "Here is the natural habitat of the creationist. ... Shhh, I'm moving in for a closer look ... "
I value your voice in these subjects. On things like the Theological Evolution wars, I find myself in close agreement with you.
Don't stop now, please.
Well it is the intelligence and thoughfulness of your writing that helps make SEED succesful.
(note to self; remember to wipe brown stuff off nose)
As a, mostly, lurker I have found your musings thoughtful, entertaining and educational.
Congratulations, Jason! I hope you continue for a long time to come; I have been reading EvolutionBlog for quite a while now (at least 6 months, if not longer), and I really enjoy your thoughtful blogs, especially the reviews and commentaries. I also just enjoy the fact that you are a heck of a good and articulate writer as well as a cogent thinker. Long may you post!
~David D.G.
Thanks for all the kind words!
