The first Mystery Volcano Photo worked out so well, I thought I'd try a second one, this time culled from my personal collection. I'll try to figure out a way to post the scoreboard on the blog so you can keep track of your standing as MVP continues.
Take your best guess!
Enjoy the weekend.

You may be aware that PLoS ONE has started making Collections of papers in various areas of research. The older PLoS journals have been making collections for a long time. PLoS ONE is just starting. Last month we put together the first such collection - Stress-Induced Depression and Comorbidities:…
Dear PhysioProf,
You're wrong. Here's why.
In the comments on a post about a forth-coming paper and it's possible impacts on my own, you said:
Getting completed work out the door should always be at the absolute top of the to-do list of junior tenure-track faculty, without exception. It should…

I have a whole pile of science-y book reviews on two of my older blogs, here and here. Both of those blogs have now been largely superseded by or merged into this one. So I'm going to be slowly moving the relevant reviews over here. I'll mostly be doing the posts one or two per weekend and I'll…
My guess would have to be Villarica
It does look a lot like Villarica. If not, I say Llaima.
Wait, is this like WoGE where I should wait if I got the last one correct? If so, sorry!
I was going to say Shishaldin, but it looks like I'm going against the current on this one.
Llaima .. my very uneducated guess culled from photos from Flickr and careful study of that volcanista dude..
And yes, volcanista is banned this round, that would make me winner if he/she is right again. w00t!
The summit curvature makes it look like Llaima to me, at least from this worn out old armchair.
Wow, this one must have been a "gimme" because Elizabeth got it on the first guess. It is indeed Villarrica, photographed in 2004 (by me) while I was attending the IAVCEI meeting in Pucon, Chile. I think I'll post another MVP for the weekend now that this one got solved so quickly.
I saw the picture and said: "Villarrica!" because I´m from Chile and that is atypical chilean landscape: thestreet light, the 'araucaria' at left, and obvious it was not the Llaima, because it has two summits. Badly it was late to answer.
It's the Villarrica Volcano :D I know, because I live there
and that picture was taken in Pucon.
I love Villarrica Volcano, thats why I study Geology :)
