Some things do change. Mrs. R's favorite labor song. Enjoy:

In keeping my (temporary), retreat from medical blogging for the weekend, I thought you might enjoy as much as I did this list of the 100 Worst Cover Songs. I do have a few objections, though. For one thing, I kind of like Marilyn Manson's cover of Personal Jesus, which clocks in at #90. I don't…
Growing up in Europe, one couldn't avoid the annual ritual that is the Eurovision Song Contest. Embarassingly, Ireland has won the contest more times (7) than any other county. Responsible for unleashing ABBA on an unsuspecting world in 1974, the contest also has to be blamed for "Riverdance". The…

Oh my goodness! About 35 years ago, my husband at that time, travelled all over the country with a group from West Virginia University who had put together a multi-media presentation specfically for union groups. One of the songs they did was the Union Maid. (I remember, at one performance in Pennsylvania, meeting Tony Boyle--who told me "they weren't going to get him.") As a side note, my ex-husband has known Arlo for a number of years, and would visit him at his home in Massachusetts.
Gosh, the memories this song brings back.
