STACLU seems to be taking on new contributors. Unfortunately, the new ones don't seem to be any brighter or capable of rational thought than the old ones. Witness this post by Oak Leaf, which begins with this breathtakingly stupid statement:
Today, the ACLU attacked the Department of Defense and by default all uniformed members of the military of using "abusive interrogation practices" on prisoners taken in the Global War on Terror
Grammatical difficulties aside (the phrase "attacked...of using" is a nonsense phrase), who other than a deluded ideologue would think that accusing the Pentagon of creating an environment that encourages abuse of prisoners is an indictment of "all uniformed members of the military"? This is as ridiculous as the claim yesterday that saying there are members of racist hate groups in the military that shouldn't be there means that all soldiers are racists. Are these people just completely incapable of having a rational thought? What a tragic way to go through life.

10-15 Years ago Ralph Peters was someone respectable and responsible. It's embarrasing what he's become, but at least he's found an audience at the NY Post and the AEI.
He's quite influential among the military blockheads, and to read his stretegic ramblings you get the idea why the hole keeps getting dug deeper. Today's article is just one artifact in many.
Ralphie used to wear oak leaves. Maybe he's expanding his reach beyond NY?
