I am very pleased to announce that Howard Van Till has agreed to join the board of Michigan Citizens for Science, on whose board I also sit. Dr. Van Till is professor emeritus of physics and astronomy at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan and is also on the board of advisers for the Templeton Foundation. As a founding member of the International Society for Science and Religion, Howard has been active in encouraging members of the scientific community and the faith community to engage each other seriously and in positive ways. Despite being a devout Christian, he has written extensively against the arguments of the ID movement in books and scholarly articles, many of which can be found here.
We are also happy to have Frank Ravitch join the MCFS board. Frank is an associate professor of law at the Michigan State University School of Law, with his particular expertise being in church/state issues. I can't tell you how pleased I am to have Howard and Frank on our board. Both of these gentlemen bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the board and their willingness to lend their considerable talents to the fight for quality science education will strengthen our efforts enormously.

The Kansas AG and School Board may have broken state laws to push a creationist agenda.
Help us beat them!
Joshua-
MCFS works closely with Kansas Citizens for Science. Rob Pennock, who is the MCFS board president, was a big part of the Kansas fight back in 1999. I've had the pleasure of meeting Jack Krebs and Liz Craig from MCFS, and they've done great work there in holding the line against the creationists. If you are not yet a member, I recommend you join with them.
