Goes to Rhea County, Tennessee:
Rhea County commissioners unanimously voted to ask state lawmakers to introduce legislation amending Tennessee's criminal code so the county can charge homosexuals with crimes against nature."We need to keep them out of here," said Commissioner J.C. Fugate, who introduced the motion.
County Attorney Gary Fritts also was asked by Fugate to find the best way to enact a local law banning homosexuals from living in Rhea County.
And irony of ironies, these same people celebrate the trial that made a laughingstock of them:
Rhea County, about 30 miles north of Chattanooga, is among the most conservative in Tennessee. It holds an annual festival commemorating the 1925 trial that convicted John T. Scopes on charges of teaching evolution...
Brilliant. Perhaps they should pass a law preventing sub-literate bigots from living in that county. Or at the very least, prevent them from being elected to public office, for crying out loud.

The vote was recinded in a hastily called meeting after an outpouring of outrage by Rhea County citizens.
Well I guess that's something. But your county commission voted unanimously to try to ban homosexuals from the county. How about a resolution throwing JC Fugate out of Rhea County? That would hopefully raise the average IQ there.

Other commissioners thought they were voting to ban gay marriage. At least that's what they said later.
