KITP: formation and evolution

I am currently at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics, hanging out at the "Formation and Evolution of Globular Clusters" workshop.

Apparently I am, for now, also the official "program blogger" program rapporteur...

Who knew.
When David suggests something is a good idea, it becomes a good idea.

So, right now I am kinda busy trying to keep up with the workshop - there are some interesting new things, which I'll get to in due time. Real Soon Now.

Y'all can participate through the multimedia online presence, including video (live and archived), podcasts and slides of talks.
There is also a wikispace for participants.

I'll be blogging updates of various brevity (almost) daily.
It will have a KITP "category" tag, so those who want to hear about the "11 am what's new" update reports can filter out the other stuff.

The extended program will go on for a bit.

There are also some random stringy people hanging about right now.
I might occasionally slum over there and see if there have been any breakthroughs...
April looks exciting.

I see some flatlanders will be arriving next week to kick off their workshop.
I have residual fondness for 2-D relativistic quantum systems...

I then expect to be told how to seize Control of Light and Matter.
Sounds not only useful, but also as if some sciblings might even come visit.

Ok, I now have to pay attention to Real Life - extragalactic x-ray sources and black holes in dense stellar systems beckon

Er! Some of the session wandered off pretty far afield didn't it :-). Hopefully the Friday morning talks which had more details whetted your appetite a bit.

PS - The promise of an attentive audience is rather alluring. If you had mentioned this slightly earlier some talks that were still being prepared may have taken requests :-)
