iPod iChing - vote for we

Just in case, we do our weekly iPod iChing early with a schedule friday publication...
a sort of prescient omniscience.
We will also see how we do with a sharply restricted library selection, this might stretch the iPod's powers to the utmost.

So... oh mighty one. What is in store for us over the next week?

Whoosh goes the Randomizer.
Whoosh.

  • The Covering: (Waiting For The) Ghost Train - Madness
  • The Crossing: Hiroshima - Utangarðsmenn
  • The Crown: Over in the Meadow... - traditional
  • The Root: Afgan (live) - Stríð og Friður
  • The Past: Viska Einsteins - Utangarðsmenn
  • The Future: Grettir og Glámur - Bubbi
  • The Questioner: Never Be Rude To An Arab - Monty Python
  • The House: MB. Rosinn - Bubbi
  • The Inside: Ever Fallen in Love - Buzzcocks
  • The Outcome: Please Do Not Go - Violent Femmes

Oo dear. Well, that serves me right for loading up on old Icelandic punk.
Hiroshima is from the "Outsiders" - on human stupidity and denying God. "The danger increases by the minute..." Very ugly lyrics from height of cold war paranoia.
Afgan is from "War and Peace", kinda speaks for itself.
Vizka Einsteins - is an ode to the Iran-Iraq war and the cut off of the "black blood of life", another very ugly song lyrically "I woke up this morning and fateful news came to me..."
Grettir og Glámur is a short blues riff on traditional tales of heroism and ghosts. The hero wins, at a price.
I'd forgot I had the Monty Python collection on here. Hm.
MB. Rosinn is a song about a bunch of dirty drunk sailors on a second rate boat.
Ever Fallen in Love is as bittersweet as it gets
and the Outcome - well of all the Violent Femme lyrics, it is not the worst

Yuck: war, despair and betrayal. Some really classic songs in there though.

As always, the Key as explained by Sean

I can't see much of a future
Unless we find out what's to blame
What a shame
And we won't be together much longer
Unless we realize that we are the same
