The text of the President's "controversial" education speech has been released...

...and it's easy to see why the right is so up in arms over Obama's plan to start off the new school year by talking to students.

I've just finished reading the text of the speech, and it's just totally jam packed with anti-Republican ideological concepts. Here are some of the highlights:

I know that feeling. When I was young, my family lived in Indonesia for a few years, and my mother didn't have the money to send me where all the American kids went to school. So she decided to teach me extra lessons herself, Monday through Friday - at 4:30 in the morning.

Now I wasn't too happy about getting up that early. A lot of times, I'd fall asleep right there at the kitchen table. But whenever I'd complain, my mother would just give me one of those looks and say, "This is no picnic for me either, buster."

OMG!! Obama lived in Indonesia! Why didn't we find out about that before the election??!!?? Maybe he was born there!!!1!!ELEVENTY!!! Then he couldn't really be President!!

And what's this nonsense about working hard early in the morning, and about his mother taking responsibility for making sure he was well-educated even if the local schools couldn't do the job. What kind of message is that to send kids?

Maybe you could be a good writer - maybe even good enough to write a book or articles in a newspaper - but you might not know it until you write a paper for your English class. Maybe you could be an innovator or an inventor - maybe even good enough to come up with the next iPhone or a new medicine or vaccine - but you might not know it until you do a project for your science class. Maybe you could be a mayor or a Senator or a Supreme Court Justice, but you might not know that until you join student government or the debate team.

Write for newspapers? iPhones?? "Student government"??? The man is clearly trying to corrupt our young. Why couldn't he encourage them to do something less insidious - like dealing crack or something?

And no matter what you want to do with your life - I guarantee that you'll need an education to do it. You want to be a doctor, or a teacher, or a police officer? You want to be a nurse or an architect, a lawyer or a member of our military? You're going to need a good education for every single one of those careers. You can't drop out of school and just drop into a good job. You've got to work for it and train for it and learn for it.

Working now to get something you want way later? Mr. President, what kind of message is that to send to Americans?

No, no, no, no, no. You have it all wrong. Obama mentioned that maybe students could come up with a new vaccine. We can't have that, now!

You guys are missing the really unAmerican parts:

Maybe youâll decide to stand up for kids who are being teased or bullied because of who they are or how they look, because you believe, like I do, that all kids deserve a safe environment to study and learn.

Or worst of all:

Youâll need the insights and critical thinking skills you gain in history and social studies to fight poverty and homelessness, crime and discrimination, and make our nation more fair and more free.

Socialist/Fascist/Communist indoctrination at its worst. Time to break out the rifles and ammo, boys, and take to the streets to reclaim America!

Holy mackerel! They weren't kidding! From the text directly from the WH:

"We need every single one of you to develop your talents, skills and intellect so you...can..fight...your parents, grandparents and other adults...(N)one of it will matter unless all of you...give me...their...brain(s)."

Jimspice! How did I miss that? He's out to make kids into Obambies!

In fairness, the 4:30 in the morning thing isn't that surprising assuming that the schools in Indonesia run to the same time schedule as those in Malaysia - schools start at 7:00 and run to about 12:00, by which time it's too hot for people to do very much other than try to stay cool.

New Vaccines???? Hell, only God(tm)can make new things...Ain't that nappy-headed fool read his Genesis????(and NO, not the liner notes from Abacab)
